Regional Sales Manager

Our client is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to establish and develop their presence in the Irish market. Key Responsibilities

Sales Management & Business Development

• Manage the entire sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while ensuring excellent customer experience.
• Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
• Plan and participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events in coordination with the head office.
• Support existing clients and conduct product presentations independently.
• Work closely with senior management to develop sales strategies and explore new market opportunities.

Market Research & Strategy

• Conduct market research to identify customer needs, emerging trends and competitor activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to refine sales strategies and business development efforts.
• Stay up to date on relevant industry developments in Ireland (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotech, food & beverage, and chemical sectors) and adjust approaches accordingly.

Relationship Management & Growth

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including direct customers, EPCs, system integrators, and industry partners.

Financial & Demand Planning

• Track and analyse sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support budget planning and cost control, working alongside senior management.

• Assist with demand planning to ensure accurate sales forecasts and inventory management.

Your Profile

• Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development within the pharmaceutical, biotech, process engineering, instrumentation, analytical measurement, or chemical industries. A strong understanding of the sales processes, customer requirements and commercial environment within these industries is essential.

Technical Qualification

• Ideally, you will have a background in measurement and control technology, instrumentation, process engineering, automation or a related technical discipline.
• A strong understanding of analytical measurement technologies, particularly pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen (DO), is considered essential.
• This knowledge will enable you to quickly engage with customers and technical applications without requiring extensive initial training.

Industry Network

• You have access to and an established network within industries relevant to our business.
• Existing relationships within the BioPharma sector are highly desirable.
• Additional contacts within the chemical, food & beverage and wider process industries would be considered a significant advantage.

Application Expertise

• You possess practical experience with process analytical instrumentation and measurement applications.
• You are familiar with measurement points involving parameters such as pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen.
• Ideally, you have previous experience selling, specifying, integrating, commissioning, or supporting comparable instrumentation solutions within pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or food production environments.

Legal Counsel (German Insurance Law)

About the Role

Our client, a leading international insurance provider, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its Legal team.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Legal and work closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Operations and Compliance functions on insurance law and regulatory matters, primarily relating to the German market.

The role will also provide support on cross-border legal topics involving Austria and other European jurisdictions.

This position can be performed remotely from Germany or on a hybrid basis with periodic visits to the company's Dublin office.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the business on legal and regulatory requirements applicable to life and non-life insurance products operating in Germany on a Freedom of Services basis.
• Provide legal advice relating to insurance customer documentation and marketing materials.
• Support insurance distribution activities involving German and Austrian intermediaries, including trade and ancillary intermediaries.
• Partner with business stakeholders on insurance law and regulatory matters to develop and improve products, solutions and customer communications.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the German and Austrian markets and advise on their implications.
• Conduct legal research and review products, initiatives and business activities from a legal and regulatory perspective.
• Assist with and manage disputes, litigation and contentious matters affecting the business.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
• Support cross-border insurance matters across European jurisdictions where the company operates.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including service, distribution and reinsurance agreements.
• Review and enhance legal processes, policies and procedures to mitigate risk and improve operational efficiency.
• Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
• Represent the company at relevant industry forums and regulatory discussions where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Law degree obtained in Germany (1. Staatsexamen) or a Master of Laws (LL.M.).
• Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5–6 years' professional experience within a legal function.
• Previous experience within the insurance sector, ideally non-life insurance.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.

Desirable:

• Admission to the Bar and/or eligibility for admission as Syndikusanwalt.
• Knowledge of PPI and/or simple protection products.
• Knowledge of Data Protection Law.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global presence. We promote the study of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. The position is remunerated in accordance with the current salary scheme for locally employed staff at the Goethe-Institut in Ireland. The starting salary is €43,192.80 gross per annum. Annual leave amounts to 24 days plus 3 German public holidays.

Due to the short-term nature of the fixed-term contract (sabbatical cover), a valid residence and work permit for Ireland is required.

Key Responsibilities

Head of Library:

• Develop and organise the library collection (acquisition of media, cataloguing, processing, collection maintenance, and weeding)
• Supervise and support circulation desk operations; ensure order, functionality, and smooth day-to-day running of the library
• Further develop the library as a place of exchange in cooperation with other departments and partners; create new formats to increase usage and visibility
• Plan, manage, and monitor budgets and controlling processes in line with Goethe-Institut planning and management tools
• Expand financial scope through the acquisition of third-party funding

Library Event Management:

• Plan and deliver programme activities in the library and with partners, with a focus on literature, translation, and literary events, in line with the Goethe-Institut’s strategy and in coordination with institute management
• Plan joint events with the language department to motivate learners and promote the German language
• Maintain contacts and build networks within the fields of literature and translation in Ireland, in coordination with institute management

Requirements:

• German language proficiency at C2 level
• Excellent English skills (C1 level or higher)
• Knowledge of and interest in cultural and educational exchange between Ireland and Germany
• University degree or equivalent qualifications in library science, humanities, or a related field, ideally with several years of professional experience
• Strong knowledge of the German and Irish literary scenes, including public and private organisations, media, funding bodies, archives, and publishers
• High attention to detail, flexibility, and reliability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Proven experience in event and/or project management in the cultural sector, including related public relations work
