It brings together research institutions, industry and public partners to develop and demonstrate solutions across the hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, transport and application. In parallel, HC-H2 supports regional economic transformation in the Rhenish mining area by promoting innovation, infrastructure development and skilled employment in the hydrogen economy.

  • Electrolyzer of HyDN is a new industrial hydrogen facility designed to produce climate-neutral hydrogen from renewable power at Brainergy Park in Jülich. The plant will supply green hydrogen to regional mobility and energy users as part of the local energy-transition infrastructure.

  • Synhelion is a Swiss clean-technology company that produces sustainable synthetic fuels from solar energy to replace conventional fossil fuels in transportation and mobility. They use concentrated solar heat and renewable inputs (like water and CO₂/biogenic sources) to make “solar fuels” such as jet fuel, diesel and gasoline that are drop-in compatible with existing engines and infrastructure, helping reduce carbon emissions. Synhelion has built and is scaling industrial solar-fuel plants (e.g. DAWN) and is partnering with companies like SWISS airline to bring renewable aviation and transport fuels to market.
