Delegation: Mechanical and Plant Engineering with a Focus on Production Technology and Supplier Industries for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technology
The Irish market is one of the most dynamic locations in Europe for pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturing. A business delegation trip will take place from 02.11. to 05.11.2026 as part of the Market Entry Programme for SMEs, specifically aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the mechanical and plant engineering sector.
Ireland has a strong, export-driven life sciences industry with internationally leading companies. In 2024, pharmaceutical exports amounted to approximately €89.81bn, with the US being the most important export market. At the same time, Germany is one of Ireland’s key EU trading partners. This combination of industrial strength, investment activity, and demand for production and automation technologies makes Ireland an attractive location for German suppliers.
For mechanical and plant engineering companies, there are clear opportunities: the sector is growing dynamically due to capacity expansion, automation, and quality assurance. At the same time, labour shortages and cost pressures are increasing the demand for efficient technological solutions, particularly those “Made in Germany”.
Ireland offers an investment-friendly environment with a stable economy and strong attractiveness for international companies. Labour shortages further increase demand for external partners and innovative solutions across the value chain.
