German Irish Business Award

The German-Irish Business Award, presented by the German-Irish Chamber of Industry & Commerce (AHK Ireland), is an award that recognises outstanding achievements by companies from all industries in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and their contributions to strengthening German-Irish business relations.

This award recognises companies with projects that demonstrate a strong commitment to social responsibility, the positive contribution to communities, creation of jobs, and the promotion of bilateral economic relations between Germany and Ireland.

 

The winner selection is based on the following criteria:

  • Sustainable Social Commitment (1-10 points)
    Assesses how the project creates a positive and lasting impact on people, employees, communities, or society through social responsibility initiatives, employment, education, training, skills development, or other social contributions.
  • Commitment to the German-Irish Economic Relationship (1-10 points)
    Assesses how the project creates, supports, or strengthens economic cooperation between Germany and Ireland through business, trade, investment, innovation, employment, or knowledge exchange. 

 

Scoring Scale

  • 1 point - Does not meet the criterion.
  • 2 points - Meets the criterion to a very small extent.
  • 3 points - Meets the criterion to a limited extent.
  • 4 points - Partially meets the criterion, but important aspects are missing.
  • 5 points - Adequately meets the criterion.
  • 6 points - Meets the criterion well.
  • 7 points - Meets the criterion to a strong degree.
  • 8 points - Meets the criterion to a very strong degree.
  • 9 points - Almost fully meets the criterion, with only minor limitations.
  • 10 points - Fully meets the criterion to an exceptional degree.

 

The maximum total score is 20 points.

 

Conditions of participation: 

 

Companies that stand out due to their sustainable social commitment and their contribution to deepening German-Irish economic relations are eligible to participate. The project description must not exceed 6,000 characters and must be in text form (pdf, no videos). The projects submitted will be assessed by a jury.

Award ceremony:

The award ceremony will take place at the Second German-Irish Business Gala on 6 November 2026. The winner will receive media visibility through AHK Ireland's communication channels.
