On Thursday, 22 January 2026, the German-Irish Chamber of Commerce (AHK Ireland) held its New Year's reception at A&L Goodbody. AHK Ireland was delighted to welcome members and friends of the chamber and to herald the start of the year with dialogue, networking and new momentum for German-Irish business relations.
A very special and heartfelt thank you goes to A&L Goodbody, who, as hosts of the evening, created the perfect setting for an all-round successful reception.
Guests and speakers
Keavy Ryan, Chair at A&L Goodbody and host of the evening, opened the event with a personal and appreciative welcome.
Another honour was the presence and speech by Ambassador David Gill, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ireland.
The AHK Ireland was represented by Joe Walsh, President of the Chamber. In his speech, he looked back on the successes of the past year and gave an outlook on the priorities and upcoming highlights for 2026.
In a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, participants from industry, politics and business engaged in intensive discussions and strengthened existing connections.
The event underscored the continuing importance of close cooperation between Germany and Ireland, especially in times of economic change and shifting global challenges. Throughout the evening, discussions focused on shared opportunities, innovation and the value of cross-sector cooperation.
Many thanks to our partners
The Chamber would like to express its sincere thanks to its members and partners and to everyone who contributes to the Chamber's success! Special thanks go to A&L Goodbody, the host of the evening and new patron for 2026.
We look forward to further strengthening and celebrating the relationship between Germany and Ireland throughout the year.
